Before you place an order: Measure and check first!
Different brands of snowblowers have different shoe mounting patterns, the spacing can vary within a brand as well. To order the right set of skids, you need to determine the spacing of your mounting slots. Here's how:
1. Slot Spacing: Take the old snowblower shoe off, mark the center of each slot at the very top, then measure between the two lines. Measure from the CENTER of one slot to the CENTER of the other slot. Typical distances are 2.0 inches, 2.5 inches, 2.75 inches. or 3 inches. Take your time measuring, make sure you have good light. If you are unsure, ask someone else to measure as well, and then compare results.
2. Mounting bolt size: If the measurement of slot distance is 2.0, 2.5, or 2.75 inches, your bolt size should be 5/16. If you have a 3 inch slot distance you will probably have a 3/8 bolt. Other sizes are mixed between 5/16 and 3/8 bolts. If you’re not sure, take it to a hardware store and find out. 1/19/2011: I’ve adjusted the slot size on the 2.5” to accept a 3/8 bolt to accommodate the new Deere size. I highly recommend using washers, especially if you have a 3/8 bolt.
3. ARMORskids® are larger, longer, and wider than your stock skids by design. Check around the current skid, look for any significant bumps on the housing that may keep you from properly mounting a longer skid. A few brands such as Toro mount the skid in a recessed area that does not allow room for ARMORSkids® to be installed without some sort of shim, which we now sell. It’s very rare, but it does occur. See the FAQ below if this applies to you.
Shipping: We ship Via US Postal Service 2-3 day Priority Mail. I typically try to get them in the mail the next business day, but when things get busy it may take me 'till the weekend to catch up with orders.

ASC3575-B: 5.75” Slot Spacing (Measured from center of slot to center of other slot).
This set of 2 skids has 5 slots. You will be using the first and fifth slot, plus possibly the middle third slot in the center. Note that the middle slot is centered between the outer two slots, but is extra wide to handle offset middle bolts. Typical offset 3-bolt patterns have 2.75" between the rear bolt and the middle bolt, and 3" between the middle and front bolt. Since the slots are designed to have a loose fit on 3/8 bolts, if you have 5/16 bolts you should have enough play to get all three bolts in without modification - but no promises. Worst case scenario is that you use just the two mounting bolts, which is plenty for a snowblower skid. If you have a 5/16 bolt, you will need to use washers. Bolts and washers not included. Please fill in the make and model number (example: Deere 8661). I'm putting together a chart that will hopefully aide people in selecting the correct size.

ASC0900-A: 9” Slot Spacing (3 slots 4.5" apart. Measured from center of slot to center of other slot).
Designed for the BIG snowblowers and tractor-mounted blowers. This set of 2 skids has 3 slots. Slots are designed to have a slightly loose fit on a 3/8 bolt. New bolts and washers not included. If you have a 5/16 bolt, you will need to use washers. New bolts and washers not included. Please fill in the make and model number (example: Deere 8661). I'm putting together a chart that will hopefully aide people in selecting the correct size.
Note: This size is much larger than the other sizes, 16.5" tip-to-tip. Distance from bottom of skid to top of slots is 2 3/4". This may not provide enough lift for your machine, initial feedback from one person said that his scraper plate is 1/2" off the ground when the skids are at full extension. Please measure carefully to make sure it will work for you. Once I get feedback from the first few orders I will need to raise the price significantly to cover the additional costs. It also requires different shipping, which is more expensive.
Note: Skids are Black. Patent Pending.

We’re continuing to develop new sizes. If you don’t see a size you’re looking for, email us with details! We’ll need your bolt pattern and bolt size and your snowblower make and model. A few pictures will help a lot as well. Thanks!
FAQ: I don’t see my size listed. Do you have other sizes?
We currently make skids in the sizes shown above. If your snowblower has a different mounting pattern than shown above, email us for details on having a set of skids custom-made to fit your snowblower. If enough people ask for a size, we’ll start producing them. We are currently working on adding several additional sizes, so please contact us with your make and model, and the bolt mounting pattern you need. A few pictures will also be very helpful as well.
FAQ: Do you have a chart where I could lookup what size shoes I need?
Sizes vary so much that it’s much safer to measure what you actually need, then to rely on a chart. Manufacturers change specs all the time, even within a brand on the same model. We’ve even seen incorrect owners manuals. It’s really best to measure what you’ve got instead of using a chart.
FAQ: It looks like I have a bump on the side that might cause issues with mounting. What do I do?
Every auger housing is different, and there are many that have a bump that runs somewhere along the housing. The bump adds strength to the metal housing and makes it stiffer and stronger. In rare cases, the bump is close enough to the skid area that the ARMORskids® shoe touches the bump. Most of the time it’s not a problem to mount my skids right over the bump, using a slightly longer bolt to attach it. Some people have found that a bit of trimming to the corner of the skid will solve the issue completely. We now have spacers available that will move the skids outward.
FAQ: I own a Toro or a similar brand that looks like its recessed a bit. What do I do?
Check out our spacers, they are designed to move the skid further outward to take care of any recessed areas. See above.
FAQ: I have a long gravel driveway. The stock shoes dig in. How do Armorskids® work on gravel?
Armorskids® are designed specifically to handle the challenge of gravel. Their long and wide design allows them to float over the gravel instead of digging in. They are made to handle the wear associated with gravel driveways.
